Narvi’s strange light curve

What its brightness changes say about its shape.

Published 2026-10-23

Narvi rotates every 10.21 ± 0.02 hours.[1]

Three minima

Like Siarnaq and Ymir, its light curve has three minima.[1]

Different

Unlike the other “triangular” moons, one minimum is much higher than the others, and the maximum half a period ahead is much lower.[1]

Size

NASA estimates a radius of 3.5 km assuming an albedo of 0.04.[2]
